My wife called me up at work a couple of days ago while I was literally looking into an instrument upside down telling me about a site called "Razzi.me" she had come across. It's pronounced like Papa"razzi"... Another venue to display my work:)
I like hearing different ways to share, embed and grab peoples attention. It's a real easy site to navigate and I like the "share" button which opens up into several ways to embed and promote the photo or album you're looking at or just uploaded to. I guess it's something like PhotoBucket... but I never got into that site... go figure. I was also able to import all my Flickr material right into an album which saved me a bit of time re-uploading images.

Autumn is Right Around the Corner!

Back to school is always bittersweet, while we look forward to the new school year-we also miss summer! It has been so hot & humid (typical Florida weather really!) Now we are ready for the somewhat cooler weather & the many photo sessions that come with the mild change of seasons! Autumn is our favorite time of the year! There are so many festivals, harvests, farmers markets & leaves! For the Class of 2012 the Fall is a wonderful time to get your candid photos taken! Join us for a few hours at a urban or suburban location to fulfill your high school year with some fabulous photos!! Also, for kids the weather is more tolerable in the latter part of the year (think fall harvest photos with pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, etc!)

We know it's early - but we're going to go there.... think about scheduling your Holiday photos(: It's always better to schedule early than try to schedule late & find there are no spots left!

New Beginnings

Over the past few months, we have had the privilege of photographing different types of new beginnings!
A beautiful newborn little girl named Kyleigh Rae. She had only been in the world 6 days when her parents gave us the opportunity to capture those precious memories. Kyleigh was a perfect model, giving us those adorable smiles, yawns & pure love. We are very grateful to the family for letting us share in their special new beginning! Congratulations!

Another new beginning we shared in was Chris & Nicki's wedding in April! What a fabulous day full of laughter, fun & of course---photo ops! This vibrant, gorgeous couple had a perfect day planned from the ceremony at a picturesque park to the reception following at 310 Lakeside! Since they are both actors their "Playbill" program, song Marry Me, the bride & groom dance (it was absolutely delightful by the way!!) was them to a tee! We don't know how they remembered all those dance moves, but they were amazing!! We are so thankful to have been a part of their wedding & with each moment it only confirmed what a fun-loving, blessed family they are! Congratulations on your new beginnings!

It's been a while since we've updated the blog-sorry about that! So many things go on day in and day out. But you already know that:)

And while life has a way of getting in the way, remember your events with professional photography. There are many, many available options in photography these days. There are canvas prints in many sizes, and not just traditional 11x14's or 8x10's. How about a square image-that's what's in style right now! How about one image placed on various canvases that still creates one image? Got ya thinkin' huh? ; >

We know that school photos will always be a staple in everyone's lives, but save some money in your budget for "Life Photos". By that we mean instead of having the standard "school pose", you know the one's where your child has an artificial smile plastered on, with their best outfit & the blue/gray/purple etc background? We know you've got them (we have too) but for this year make a change, budget for photos in the park, photos of your family in a more natural "pose", wearing what you feel comfortable in, being you!

There are so many fantastic locations in the Central Florida area, whether it be the beach, a park, Disney area, Clermont, etc. Let's have some fun together & capture some beautiful memories!

On to singles and dating. We all probably have a single friend or family member who really wants to find Mr. or Ms. Right, or at least have a decent date! Now the latest in singles meeting singles (again, according to google searches) is www.chatroulette.com We really don't know anything about it, except that it's a top ranked up & coming google search:) But, it can't hurt to pass along the info to your single friends, after all Valentine's Day is right around the corner!

Advice for brides planning their weddings now?

1. Do not skimp on photography! The number one thing I hear from everyone I talk to is how disappointed they were with their wedding photos!

2. Make use of family heirlooms as decoration! You will get so many compliments on how touching/sweet it is, whether it be linens, grandparent photos, etc. It is a great bonus on top of saving tons of money!

MORE ADVICE:)

Infuse your personality
Don't have a cookie-cutter wedding. Think about your hobbies, cherished memories, and personalities. If you love to travel, consider naming tables after places you've visited together. If you are a fishing aficionado, consider fishbowls with live fish in them as centerpieces. Your wedding will be a thousand times more special and memorable.

Don't always follow tradition
Don’t spend money on things just because you think they're traditional. If you don’t really want it, don’t do it. A great example of this is the custom of using both an inner and outer envelope for a wedding invitation. Many couples these days are forgoing this option in favor of more modern and cost-efficient invites.

Don’t sweat the small stuff
A wedding is full of thousands of details and there are bound to be a few snafus along the way. Keep in mind the reason you are doing all of this- it's not to have the perfect cake baker, who is now too overbooked to make your cake. It’s to celebrate your love together, which you coruld do in a mud puddle, if you had to.

2011 Trends!

“Art Deco” Wedding Packages
This will be one of the most prevalent trends seen in the wedding industry for next year. It is on the verge of exploding. This trend can go in numerous different avenues for wedding invitation sets, but the following will be the most common.
Art Deco: 1920’s and 30’s inspired. Wedding invitations will present strong, contrasting geometric patterning, borrowing from classic architectural elements of the roaring twenties. Vertical paper layouts will prove to be more consistent with the “style” of art deco. Perfect for those watching their budgets, because pieces that print with only one color designs, (black) on white or colored paper are more economical. For added elegance, consider metallic or pearl papers.
Art Deco: Floral Seventies and modernized Boho-chic: These will still have an overwhelming sense of “pattern.” Flat color, graphic, non-dimensional floral patterns will be prevalent in tomorrow’s wedding invitation designs.

For 2011 there is going to be extensive use of bright, tropical colors allowing weddings to be more whimsical and amazing. Some color choices that you may want to play with include:

Like many of you, our kids are involved in a variety of activities which keeps our schedule completely full & us on our toes:) Between dance classes, dance props, dance competitions, band rehearsals, band shows & trying to still keep involved with our oldest daughter, who will be 20 in a few days--we live life. We may not always have the quantity of time we want together but the quality is well worth the effort. We have so many wonderful things to be thankful for, and having the opportunity to mix something we love (photography) in with activities our children are involved in makes quite a wonderful display of photos. Think about the things your family does day in and day out- that's your life. Why take the kids to a portrait studio with everyone dressed up, hair perfect, and the kids usually grumpy because this isn't how they dress every day? Do something different this year..let's go to a park & take some photos of the kids laying in the grass (cloud animals are fun to find!). How about if your child plays soccer or football & they come off the field with their hair a mess, their face all sweaty & dirty BUT they're grinning and laughing and proud of what they've done--that's a photo op:) That's how you see your kids, living a real life. Very rarely are they "picture perfect" so think about putting some real life photos on your walls. You won't regret it. In fact, in years to come, you will treasure these photo memories because it is the journey your family has taken and it's not always perfect:)

What a fabulous start we've had to the New Year! We've had the opportunity to work with some amazing people already & be a part of great events! If you're fans on the Facebook page (which you should be!:)) you've already seen the Comic Book photo shoot we participated in! Lots of superheroes on hand & had a lot of fun spending the day with them! We've done lots of dancer photography already for the New Year! We've worked with some great guys and girls creating some intense action shots, as well as more modeling poses. These dancers are super talented & dedicated to their craft so it was just so natural & easy to work with each and every one of them! Welcome to 2011!! We just can't believe how fast the years go by! The kids are growing up too fast, work keeps us busy, after school activities keep our gas tanks empty & in the middle of all that we have to find time to keep our homes clean, our families fed & in bed on time on a school night. Trust us- we know how you feel! And for this year our hope is that each of you will find the time you need to get it all done, without feeling stressed. We also want you to realize that while time is passing at an incredible rate of speed- we need to take some time to slow ourselves down. Enjoy our children, while they are still children. Take time to eat together & play together. Life is about the moments, the good, the bad & the ugly. So why not make an effort to create wonderful moments which will turn into long lasting memories. The next time you're cooking, cleaning or driving your kids to an activity, take a few moments to sing a silly song, play I Spy or just ask "How are you today?". In between cell phone conversations & facebook"ing" realize that family time is so much more important than anything you are doing. Build a strong foundation with your family now for it is the building block for future generations. Set the example you wish to see in your life. 2o11 will be FuLL oF LiFe-- Squeeze as much life as you can into it!!

Upperclassmen's Dorm Decor Tips
Upperclassmen have these recommendations for freshmen to take to their new dorm rooms. They also advise buying furniture for storage that is durable enough to withstand four years of moving. Most of these items can be found at big discount stores:

Big storage bins.
Storage with pull-out drawers.
Hampers.
Shoe rack that can hang in a closet.
Organizational material for desks such as letter sorters.
Small trash cans.
TV wall mounts. You can find these at electronics stores for $20 to $30.
Bed risers. These can sit under bed posts, lifting them high enough to create storage space underneath.
Something to hold dirty dishes until you're ready to wash them.
One or more fans for rooms without air conditioning.
Totes for toiletries.
Sheets and pillows. These make nice decor for futons.

You work hard all year, so this is the day to relax and celebrate. Throw a Labor Day bash that ends the summer right and kicks off your autumn in style!

The three-day Labor Day weekend in September is one last celebration before fall. Labor Day began as a celebration by factory workers after the 1894 Pullman strike. Labor union workers were off the job for almost two months. After this, the president realized the importance of supporting laborers and made Labor Day a national holiday. During the long weekend, most people relax and have a good time. One way to do this is with mixed drinks--alcoholic and otherwise.

Lemonade Punch

For this drink, have on hand three cans of frozen pink lemonade, one jar of maraschino cherries, one liter of lemon-lime soda and a bottle of red wine. If desired, replace the wine with another soda for a non-alcoholic version. Mix one can of lemonade with two cans of water. Freeze the lemonade in ice trays, placing a cherry inside each cube. Mix the other ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Slice an orange and lemon for garnish, and place the frozen ice cubes in the lemonade

Labor Day Weekend

This drink is a refreshing cocktail for a holiday weekend. Pour one part rum and one part Jägermeister over ice. Mix one part cherry juice with one part pineapple juice and pour over the alcohol until the glass is full. Make this drink individually, rather than in multiple servings.

Patriotic Margarita

This is a cooling, frozen margarita with three layers--one white, one red and one blue. For each layer, mix ¾-ounce triple sec, 1 ¼ ounces tequila, 2 ounces sweet and sour margarita mix, 2 cups crushed or shaved ice and 1 ½ ounces limejuice. To make the colors, add eight strawberries to the first layer and 1 ½ ounces of pineapple juice and 1/3 cup pineapple to the second layer. For the blue layer replace the triple sec with blue Curacao and add 1 ½ ounces pineapple juice. Multiply this mix to make more than one drink at a time.

If you're like me, it's sometimes overwhelming to get all your "to do" list completed. What I find useful is to make a list of everything I need to get done daily, weekly, monthly and yes, sometimes hourly! We are extremely busy with work, after school activities and life in general! And with that being said, I just want to remind you to plan ahead, don't wait for the last minute. Plan this weeks dinner choices, plan your shopping trips, plan your nap if need be:) Plans are the best way to achieve your goals. Don't flail around each day, not getting your "to do" list accomplished. You will feel SO much better knowing that you completed your goals!

My goal this week is to keep up with this blog a couple of times a week at least:) What's your goal for this week?

We spent Saturday afternoon with the Troconis family & some wonderful ladies & gentlemen heading out to Timber Creek High School's 2010 Prom. A fun group of kids, dressed immaculately with attitudes to match! As you can see, the group was colorful & debonair as they prepared for their limo ride to celebrate & dance the night away. Weekend of Family Fun!

What a busy weekend!! Headed over to the Season Ticket Pick-Up Event for the Orlando Predators (Arena Football) and snapped some shots of my oldest daughter Nycole. I'm a proud daddy of an Orlando Prowler!! She dances for the football team. If you're local.. the first home game will be April 30th. Tickets are cheap and I hear it's a great time!!!

Then headed over south of Cocoa Beach and took some more pics of the birthday girl Chloe. She turned 7 on Saturday and wanted to have some fun. She poses faster than I can snap the photo. She's the greatest model ever!

We had a fabulous time at the lake with our littlest model, Chloe. She came up with lots of her own poses! Makes the photographer's job so much easier when the subject adds their own characteristics & natural ablilities. She worked hard & was really dedicated to the photographic journey we envisioned. Attended the Orlando FL Jump 2010 Dance Convention this weekend. I was able to catch the little ones during their classes. They later performed on stage with Kim McSwain, Katie Spreadbury and Nick Lazzarin!!! The kids had a great time.

Had the pleasure of shooting a senior from Timer Creek this weekend..Alexis!! She did a FANTASTIC job modeling. We hit downtown Orlando and hit the streets, played on train tracks and experienced typical big city aromas.

WOW!! What a great competition this weekend here in Orlando, FL. Pulse Performance Studio made an impression taking home plenty of first place trophies and awards.
I hope you enjoy the photos I've taken at the 2010 Nex*Star Dance Competition. As you can see I enjoy photographing our dancers! You can order prints and specialty items through this site at reasonable rates which helps compensate me for the time consuming post editing process. :)

Going to Texas for 2 weeks. I'll be going for work this time..hahaha. But I know I'll be fitting in photography time too! I just want to remind everyone that the holidays are approaching fast! I know there's a recession going on. But the one thing you should continue to do is get your family portraits:) Times change. People change. In the blink of an eye. Here are the photos taken from my trip to Italy this past summer. I wish I had more time to visit more places but I was very happy to see my family again after 23 years. I traveled to Milan, then Torino & Ivrea. Down to the Italian Riviera, San Remo, Diano Marina and Pairola. Then off to Genoa. I'll be updating these photos as I complete my post-processing. Latest fun thing I've done? I was given the opportunity to photograph an exciting event hosted by Kristen Hanshaw Wheeler (www.khphotographics.com) @ Cheeser's Palace in Clermont, FL! I have never photographed belly dancing, Iranian folkloric dance or even heard of gothic belly dance but it was a blast! (We even learned to "Yip!") Kristen donated all her proceeds to help a special needs facility in Apopka which is in need of new toys and supplies for their classroom My wife came with me & she had a great time too. We saw all kinds of dance, including dance with a hula hoop! You all should definitely attend an event like this if given the opportunity:)
Cheeser's Palace in Clermont was a quaint cozy shop that was very hospitable to us & we will go back for some grilled blueberry muffins~ yum! Again, had a great time & keep your eyes open for photos from my upcoming trip to Santa Barbara, California (get to take my daughter along!).

Ciao Tutti!! Translation Hi Everyone!!

Tony is still in Italia for 2 more days! So I'm filling in:) Seems like he's been gone a month..lol. We've spoke a couple of times, but other than that no communication. He's having a great time. Trying to take a lot of photos but also has lots of family to visit. He's eating good, pure, homegrown food & drinking lots of vino!! He may come back a wino! But I just wanted to keep everyone updated on his travels & he'll be back soon!

No photo for this blog entry. I'm going over all the photo gear I need to pack for a 2 week excursion to Northern Italy at the end of the month. Think lightweight! I have some personal family issues to deal with in Vicenza but will be staying in Ivrea (Torino), Genova, Diano Marina and San Remo. The last 2 cities are located on the Italian Riviera where I lived for a year back in 85-86.
I hope to get to the Cinque Terre near La Spezia.. talk about some great scenery!!
Hope to have some great photos to share with everyone. Anyone have any type of requests, feel free to drop a comment. I can't promise anything but I would think of it as a scavenger hunt.
I'm hoping to get into a situation on the rail system there like in the movie "Euro Trip" and the tunnels. Too funny.. just kidding!!

Hope everyone had a relaxing & safe 4th of July. Our family spent the 3rd at Crane's Roost Park for Red Hot & Boom. As usual the fireworks & music were inspiring and great! Too bad it's SO crowded & the parking situation needs to change (luckily for me, I was smart this year & parked further away, which made my "get away" quick & painless! It's the New Yorker in me).
Our second day of fireworks took us out to Cocoa Beach. First time we've ever made the effort to head to the beach for fireworks & I'm really happy we made the trip. Nothing beats the beauty of the way the water reflects the fireworks! Took some fabulous pictures at both events & hope everyone enjoys them! Blog ya later!:)

It's Thursday, two more days of shooting at Pulse Performance Studio. The girls look absolutely GREAT!! The costumes are so colorful and the dancers/musical theater participants are so excited to get there pictures taken. I am having a blast!

We had a BLAST this weekend at the ShowStoppers Dance Competition in Lakeland, FL! The dancers did a phenomenal job and made their mark...hahahaha!

Garbagarella Shoot - Winter Garden

What a diverse weekend of TRASH! And by trash I mean GARBAGE..these models were totally awesome at our Garbagarella shoot this weekend! Each model had unique attire in the theme of what else? Garbage:-) The ladies really showed us their creativity when they came up with their "trashy attire" for this shoot. The models take our photo shoots serious & give us awesome poses! The location was fabulous too. I couldn't have asked for a more artsy location for this theme. I have too many terrific things to say about the shoot this weekend, and mostly I want to express my thanks to those who set this up (Central Florida Models and Photography Meetup Group & the models who did the hard work:) Also, enjoyed meeting new photographers as well as seeing some faces I recognized. I really can't wait until our next photo shoot as things get better and more creative all the time...

UCF Sports Clinic

Our little one, Chloe & her friend Holly had a blast Saturday at the cheerleading clinic on the UCF campus. They were able to meet real live cheerleaders~which totally thrilled them:) They were taught the U-C-F fight song & some V's, toe touches & other things that I can't even recall the name. Of course I over indulged in pictures & caught the girls jumping high in the air! It was lots of fun & I'm sure we'll be doing it again:)

Another convention this weekend. Nycole and Chloe are excited to participate. No photography allowed at this convention.. :( But I could of swore I saw MANY parents taking snapshots and video... hmmm. I think someone caught me dancing too.. Well, if they did, I'm sure the video will be out on the Internet very soon. Can't wait for that to happen.. hahahaha

Mia Michaels/ So You Think You Can Dance

Wow, what a fabulous dance weekend! My 17 year old daughter, Nycole, had the opportunity to attend a Mia Michaels Dance workshop. Any of you who keep up with "So You Think You Can Dance" will know which choreographer I'm referring to! It was an intense weekend full of photo ops of course. My 5 year old Chloe also tried to steal the Mia Michaels spotlight with her "social" personality! Meanwhile, my 12 year old son, Luke, considered this just another torturous dance weekend & could care less about the significance of the event! Well, at least he allowed us to get him in a couple of pictures with Mia Michaels.
And yet this weekend was even busier for photography. I participated in the Orlando chapter of the Worldwide Photo Walk downtown by Lake Eola. Check out my Flicker photos! And then there was also our Photography Meetup at an Orlando Wakeboarding facitlity .
